#108 I Wanna Be That Motherfucker

Sometimes I don't let it all out.  I love that this platform and community allows me to be myself, but sometimes I can’t let it out all the way.  I’m going to give you an inside look at my perspective when I most recently went on vacation to the Virgin Islands.

I Wanna Be

I'm on a boat, but I'm seeing bigger boats.  I'm on a boat, but I'm seeing these homes.  I'm talking Bloomberg's house and Kenny Chesney's house.  The top motherfuckers, right?  Celebrities, big business people and other wealthy people have these homes on the side of fucking cliffs, right on the ocean.

You look at that and you just think, “These motherfuckers are just like us, but they figured something out.  I want to be that motherfucker, right?”  That's what I think to myself.  I see this yacht roll by, which by the way, we were on a pretty dope boat, but it ain't no yacht, you know what I mean?  It's a sick ass boat and we had a blast, but that’s some baller, baller shit.  And I'm not even really a fucking boat guy.

What Does That Motherfucker Do?

How do I get to that fucking level?  When you're around things that show you no cap, no top, and no ceiling for what's possible, it starts to open your mind even more.  I'm constantly trying to build my confidence, I'm constantly trying to teach you guys, and I'm constantly pushing.  We are the only ones that hold ourselves back.

The Fear

A lot of the big business moves I made recently took a while to complete because I was scared.  Once I committed to the changes, I persevered and got it done.  The fear was what held me back.

We all have an internal blueprint.  How you grow up and what you’re surrounded with determines that blueprint.  The way your parents operate, their financial IQ, the way they view things, and the things you hear growing up.  Together, these factors can be limiting to your growth.  That’s why you must get the right education, do things to build confidence, and fight through the fear and push through.

The Circle of Process

People continue on and on through the circle of process.  How they're born is how they continue to live, which is how their kids continue living, and the cycle never breaks.  Breaking the cycle is hard, and it’s exactly what I intended to do.  Break the fucking cycle.

Always ask yourself, “Is this the way shit should be?”  Why do I have a ceiling on this life?  Why am I thinking this way?  What material can I use during my lunge and learn to make me break through this?  Why am I not questioning why I shouldn’t be at this or that level?  Maybe I'm not at that level because I haven't done what’s necessary to get there.

Why Are You Scared?

Be curious constantly.  Then, when fear and risk present themselves, start your calculations.  Ask yourself why you’re scared.  One of the times I can analyze these situations and scenarios is on vacation.  It gives me a chance to slow things down.  And then almost every time I come back from vacation I push hard and do a ton of content.

Sometimes when I go on vacation my mind is preoccupied the whole time, or I didn’t even want to be gone.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my family.  It’s great that Rachel forces that vacation and balance.  It’s much needed, but sometimes it’s difficult to shut it down.

The Next Level

Always question yourself to see what you need to get to the next level.  What can you put into your life now that will help you seize the opportunity when it comes?  Always be thinking of these things.  It’s how you grow.

We're always feeding ourselves material, right?  We all want to push the envelope for a better life, right?  A better life for our family, a bigger impact on more people, a better understanding of business, a better understanding of finances, etc.  We want these things because we want to achieve a certain lifestyle.

It Takes Everything

All of it.  The lunges, the diet, the material, and the hours.  The compound effect, understanding the process, and never letting off the gas.  Mini breaks are great to zoom out, refresh your mind, and come back with a fire under your ass.  There’s so much more that’s possible.  When I think about ceilings, I always come back to Arnold.  There has literally been no ceiling to this dude’s life.

Deep Within

It’s so deep inside of us.  It’s how we’re wired and programmed.  How do you deprogram it?  Consistent action, variations of material, deeper dives to better your understanding, pushing yourself, and building confidence.  There’s no cap.

There's so much out there that's available to us.  Fight the fear, keep pushing, and educate yourself to build something you’re proud of.
